Sarah Jane Stoll is a D.C. Metro based painter and illustrator. She is a '17 MICA graduate with a BFA in painting. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Boston, and Baltimore. She has been published in the Guide Artists Magazine and Studio Visit.
Originally from San Bernardino, Sarah Jane was raised in the rolling hills of rural New England in an area known as The Last Green Valley. She attended PrattMWP in upstate NY from 2013-14 to pursue a career in illustration. While painting and drawing from life during her foundation year, she studied the oil techniques of John Singer Sargent and the post-impressionists.
Due to this newfound love of painting, She transferred to MICA in the fall of 2014 as a painting major. While studying At MICA, Sarah explored indirect and alla prima painting techniques. She uses a variety of tools, such as squeegees and rollers, to create distortion and other desired effects. Sarah Jane is currently based in the D.C. Metro area where she freelances.
